Live blogging evolves

In addition to the live blogging mentioned in my previous post, the Steve Job's keynote at the WorldWide Developers Conference will be streamed with live audio at iPhoneAlley.  This appears to be experimental coverage.  Also, there will be live tweets (Twitter updates) at twitter.com/sitening

What does this mean for PR?  A few ideas come to mind:

If I were an Apple shareholder, I would be interested in getting my news from these outlets rather than hearing from the mainstream media on a delay...some food for thought for investor relations.

Also, the next time you're planning an event, consider issuing press passes to bloggers! They may not reach the masses, but they reach the opinion leaders.  Think Tipping Point!

Finally, consider the cult of Mac and the powerful influence Apple's fans have in building an online community to support the brand.  I'll get to exploring that further in future posts.
